Privacy policy
Equestall is an app for running a horse stable: horses, tasks, feeding, turnout, bookings and the records a yard has to keep. This policy explains what personal data the app holds, why, who can see it and what you can do about it.
Who we are
Equestall is provided by Estancia Nord AS, Norway (“we”). For anything about your data, write to [email protected].
What we hold
- Your account: email address, the name you give, and optionally a phone number. If you sign in with Apple or Google we receive an identifier from them and, if you allow it, your name and email (Apple can give us a relay address instead).
- What you and your stable enter: horses and their details, health records (vaccinations, medication, treatments, weight, temperature), documents and photos, feed plans, turnout, tasks and who did them, bookings, notices and shopping lists.
- Visitor and biosecurity records: when a stable records a visiting horse, the owner’s name and contact details, home stable and address, travel and contact with sick horses. Animal-health rules ask yards to keep these.
- Your device: a push-notification token, so the app can notify you, and your notification settings.
- Technical logs kept briefly by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting.
We do not show ads, we do not use analytics or tracking, and we do not sell or share your data for marketing.
Why we use it
- To provide the app you signed up for (performing our contract with you).
- To keep the service secure and working (our legitimate interest).
- To answer you when you contact us.
A stable decides what it records about its own yard, including its visitors. For those records the stable is responsible, and we hold them on its behalf.
Who can see it
- Members of a stable see that stable’s shared information, such as horses, tasks, feeding and turnout, according to their role.
- Health records, documents and owners’ contact details are limited to the stable’s managers and staff, the horse’s carer and the horse’s owners.
- Your name and phone number are visible to people who share a stable with you.
- We do not look at your stable’s data except to keep the service running or when you ask us to help.
Service providers
- Supabase: database, sign-in and file storage, hosted in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden).
- Expo: delivers push notifications and app updates (United States). Notifications pass through Apple or Google to reach your phone.
- Apple and Google: only if you choose to sign in with them.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website and handles email to our address.
Where data leaves the EEA, it is protected by the providers’ standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while you use it. You can delete your account in the app (☰ → You → Your name → Delete account). Your account, profile and sign-in details are then deleted, and an Apple sign-in grant is revoked. Records that belong to a stable, such as a completed task or a health entry you made, stay with the stable but no longer show your name (they show “Former member”). A stable with only you in it is deleted with your account. Visitor records are kept by the stable for as long as the rules ask it to.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, and object to or restrict how we use it. Most of this you can do in the app; for the rest, email [email protected]. For records a stable keeps about you, you can also ask the stable. You can complain to a data protection authority: Datatilsynet (Norway), IMY (Sweden) or the ICO (United Kingdom).
Children
Equestall is not intended for children under 13 to use on their own account.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
